Would you consider hosting a male au pair?  We already collected information a few months ago on this topic, but au pair trends change.  Even if you took the last "male au pair poll" please answer this newer poll!  Why?  Read on.

2009 brought both good news and bad news regarding the status of male au pairs in the United States. First, in July, a Brazilian male au pair, Ricardo Silva de Araujo, received the International Au Pair Association (IAPA) Au Pair of the Year Award. This was the first time this honor went to a male au pair placed in America. Ricardo was an au pair from Cultural Care Au Pair Agency.

Then, in October, news broke about a host mom seeking monetary damages in a civil suit where she alleges her male au pair physically and sexually abused her 7 year-old son, among other complaints filed.
