The Girl's Guide to Being an Au Pair truly falls under this definition. If you want honest, practical advice about the au pair life, buy this book. Written for the au pair in mind, host parents will gain insight into what motivates a young woman to become an au pair and spend a year or two abroad, far away from family and friends.
The author, Talya Shoup, writes about her charming, funny and sometimes exasperating experiences working for a typical German family. From this experience, she outlines what is it like to be an au pair; what to expect and what to look out for.

We did buy this book for our au pair
We did buy this book for one of our au pairs (and before she arrived in the States). She said she really enjoyed reading it and I got a nice thank you note from her parents. They were very sweet.
